Dahlia Tuber Sale Guidelines

Policies for Tuber Shop:

Before proceeding with your purchase from our dahlia sale, kindly review our Tuber Shop Policies thoroughly.

Inventory: Listings will display as "Sold Out" until the sale begins.

Satisfaction Guarantee: Your support is greatly appreciated, and we want you to be satisfied with your order. We guarantee that our tubers are true to their variety and will arrive with at least one viable eye. Our tubers are stored in a quality-controlled environment.

Please inspect your tubers upon receipt and report any concerns via email to sweetsflowers@gmail.com within 72 hours. We guarantee the tuber will arrive in good condition with at least on visible eye. We cannot guarantee this live product after 72 hours in your care. We cannot be held responsible for factors such as improper storage, weather, growing conditions, pest damage, or negligence.

Mislabels: We do our absolute best with our labeling practices to prevent mislabels. If you notice a mislabel in your growing season, please reach out with a picture and we can figure out a path forward for refunding or replacement.

Shipping: Dahlia tubers will be shipped via USPS priority mail within the United States only (Including Alaska & Hawaii). Shipments will occur between early and mid-April, once the risk of freezing temperatures has passed. We cannot ship early. You will receive a notification with a tracking number once your order has been shipped. Please note that we cannot guarantee arrival times due to potential USPS delays. Shipping cost is $20 per order, no matter how few or how many dahlias are ordered.

As a small family-run farm with a limited shipping team (just us!), we work hard to fulfill a high volume of orders each season. At this time we are still able to combine shipments ifyou email us and let us know what order numbers go together.

Local Pickup: Will be held in the end of April, you will receive a notification about pick up time and location. Please try to remember to pick up at the designated time slot.

Cart: Adding items to your cart does not reserve them. Your order is confirmed only upon checkout, when you receive an order confirmation number and email.

Dahlia Virus: We make efforts to maintain healthy, virus-free plants, but it's important to note that dormant viruses may still be present in tubers.

According to the American Dahlia Society's virus research, an average of 87% of healthy, asymptomatic dahlia plants carry at least one dormant virus. Unfortunately, it is a common thing in the dahlia world, and we do our best to keep our plants healthy and virus free.

Buyers purchase at their own risk, understanding this information. Refunds for plants displaying viruses are not guaranteed but will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We use strict sanitization methods at our farm. We do not offer u-pick dahlias, and each snip is sanitized between each cut on a plant. We also rotate and sanitize snips between dahlia varieties. This process is time consuming, but we feel it is important to helping to control the spread of virus. We also cull any plant that shows any signs of illness by removing the plant and burning the material.

Order Cancellations: All sales are final once an order is placed. We are unable to accommodate cancellations or modifications after checkout. However, as a working farm dealing with perishable products, we reserve the right to cancel and issue a full refund for any order at our discretion if quality concerns arise during the shipping process.

Payment: We accept most major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Shop Pay. For a quick checkout experience, consider saving your card information on your device or using Apple Pay or Shop Pay, though note that Shop Pay may require an SMS code at checkout.

Dahlia Cuttings

All the above from the dahlia tuber section also applies to cuttings, althought with cuttings there are a few additional pieces. At Sweet Es Flowers, I put a lot of care into each cutting I send out. These are special dahlia varieties—many are hard to come by—and I know how exciting (and nerve-wracking) it can be to receive something you’ve been hoping for. I too still play the dahlia game and understand just how frustrating it can be to be let down, by not getting what you hoped for. It is my personal hope that every cutting that leaves our farm will bring you the most happiness and satisfaction and will keep you coming back year after year for our amazing dahlias.

I personally inspect, select, photograph, and package every single cutting before it ships. I only ship cuttings with visible root growth and something I’d be happy to receive myself. I guarantee the condition of our cuttings when they leave our farm.

After it leaves my hands until it is on yours there are things that may happen that we can’t control during transit. If your cutting arrives damaged, please reach out the same day it’s delivered with clear, time-stamped photos.

This allows me to assess what went wrong and do my best to make it right. If I have a replacement available, I’m happy to send it along—though I do kindly ask that you meet me in the middle for replacement shipments. In some cases, especially with rare varieties or if weather conditions aren’t right, a replacement may not be possible, but I’ll always try my best to get you the variety you wanted.

*** Please note: to receive a replacement, I’ll ask you to send a short video showing the damaged cutting being destroyed. I know that’s not fun, but it helps ensure we’re all operating with honesty and care.***

We only guarantee your cutting will arrive in good condition, once it is in your care it is up to you to continue to give it care to help it thrive. There are too many variables for us to guarantee our cuttings once they are in your care. Cuttings take a little TLC and some extra practice they can need a little extra care once they arrive. Our cuttings will arrive in a root riot cube, if you remove the cube you accept the responsibility of damaging the roots while potting up. If you’re not comfortable with all the above and giving the cuttings the extra care, please hold off and try a few dahlis cuttings from your own stock to learn about them first then come back and order some of these beauties when you’re ready.

Thank you for trusting Sweet Es with a little piece of your garden joy. I’m honored to share these dahlia cuttings with you!

Warmly, Stacey
